ESX.3cm
Communication:
– In addition to four CAN connections and an RS232 interface, an optional Ethernet interface with a dedicated connector is available. One CAN bus features a wake-up function and there is also an option for an RS485 interface
Connections:
– 56 analog and digital I/O
– 20 multi-functional inputs (functionality can be adjusted via software)
– Ability to register current, voltage, frequencies or digital switching conditions (events) at the input
– For systems which require a high switching capacity, a total of three power output groups are available with four or eight outputs
– Every group can provide up to 15A in total
– Actuators with higher power requirements can also be driven through parallel switching of several outputs within a group
Processing:
– High power 32bit 300MHz TriCore processor

ESX.3xm
Communication:
– 4 CAN interfaces for users of J1939, CANopen, and any other CAN protocol.
Connections:
– The base version, with 23 inputs and outputs, provides 4 CAN interfaces and 1 RS232 serial interface. Additional CAN or RS232 interfaces, as well as other communication interfaces like USB or Ethernet can be added easily.
Processing:
– The processor system of the ESX.3xm, based on the powerful TriCore TC1796 from Infineon, is clocked at 150 MHz and is backed by 4 MB of RAM and 6 MB of Flash. A buzzer for audio alarms, and system and user LEDs for diagnostics help troubleshoot the system without the need for any special software tools.
Programming:
– The ESX.3xm is freely programmable in CoDeSys (version 3.x), in the ‘C’ Language, or with a Matlab/Simulink support package. All of the inputs, outputs and communications ports are fully accessible and configurable through extensive BIOS libraries.
– C with API Library (SIL2 safety features available)
– CoDeSys v3 (SIL2 safety features available)
– Matlab/Simulink
Design:
– The system is designed for safety-related applications according to SIL2/ISO 61508. Safety features are controlled by a separate, independent microcontroller. Safety functions are available both in CoDeSys and in the C programming language. A complete safety manual is available along with the extensive help files that fully document the ESX.3xm hardware and software.
– 81 Pin Sealed Automotive Connectors
– IP67 Environmental Rating
– 2 Status LEDs and a buzzer
